AAC NZ LTD
AAC was established in NZ by Friedrich Koch in 2005 under the original brand name
of YTONG, which was developed in Sweden in 1929.
What is AAC?
AAC stands for autoclaved aerated concrete (autoclaved means steam hardened).
Thanks to German technology it has turned into a worldwide success. It is a strong
yet lightweight building product made up of pure mineral products (limestone, sand
and cement) and 80% air bubbles. AAC has a dry density of 400kg/cubic metre and
compressive strength of 3.5MPa and can be used to build 6-storey high buildings.
With an R-value of 2.8 for external walls it is the perfect thermal solution for building
energy efficient homes. AAC provides also best performing fire walls. Homes built with AAC will never decay and will have
longevity, fire safety and resistance against forces of nature for many generations to
